1. Fast wear speed
Due to factors such as processing, assembly, and adjustment of new machine parts, their friction surfaces are rough, their mating surface contact area is small, and their pressure bearing conditions are uneven. During the operation of the machine, the concave and convex parts of the surface of the part are fitted and rubbed against each other, and the metal debris that falls off from the grinding continues to participate in the friction as abrasive, further accelerating the wear of the mating surface of the part. Therefore, during the running-in period, it is easy to cause wear of components (especially the mating surface), and the wear speed is fast. At this time, if overloaded operation, it may lead to damage to components and early failures.
Poor lubrication
Due to the small fitting clearance of newly assembled parts and components, and due to assembly and other reasons, it is difficult to ensure the uniformity of the fitting clearance, and lubricating oil (grease) is not easy to form a uniform oil film on the friction surface to prevent wear. Thereby reducing lubrication efficiency and causing early abnormal wear of the machine parts. In severe cases, it can cause scratches or bite on the friction surface of the precision fitting, leading to the occurrence of faults.
3. Loose
The newly processed and assembled components have deviations in geometric shape and fitting dimensions. During the initial stage of use, due to alternating loads such as impact and vibration, as well as factors such as heat and deformation, as well as reasons such as excessive wear, it is easy to loosen the previously fastened components.
4. Leakage occurs
Due to the looseness and vibration of the machine parts and the influence of heat on the machine, leakage can occur on the sealing surface and pipe joints of the machine. Some defects such as casting and processing are difficult to detect during assembly and commissioning. However, due to the vibration and impact effects during the operation, such defects can be exposed as oil (water) leakage. Therefore, leakage is prone to occur during the running-in period.
5. Frequent operational errors
Due to insufficient understanding of the structure and performance of the machine (especially for new operators), it is easy to cause failures due to operational errors, even leading to mechanical accidents.
